Exercise Classes
Fitness for health is a vital part of life at University Village. Many residents attend a FREE 30-minute session of stretching to music each morning. In addition, our certified exercise instructor leads specialized classes for arthritis exercise (PACE), and Parkinson's exercise (Be Active). Click here for a schedule of exercise classes.
Gift Shop
Village Treasures gift shop is open on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and sells gifts, cards and toiletries. The shop also accepts gently used donated items for resale, with proceeds designated for a special project each year. Volunteers have fun managing the shop and residents enjoy browsing. There is something new to find every visit!
Newsletter
A monthly newsletter, The Villager, keeps residents informed about upcoming activities and our community news.
Computer Lab
The Computer Lab is available for resident usage. Volunteers are available to send and receive email for residents who are unable to utilize the lab.
Private Dining
A private dining room is available for residents to reserve for personal use to entertain family, friends, or small groups. The Theater may be reserved for hosting larger groups. Arrangements can be made for catering through the Dietary department.
Pastoral Care
Protestant non-denominational worship services and Sunday school are held at University Village every Sunday. The Nash Chapel and a private Prayer Room are also available for quiet reflection and special services. A full-time Chaplain on staff provides pastoral care to residents, families and staff as desired, and residents who are retired ministers may serve as Associate Chaplains.
Support Groups
Several groups meet regularly at UV for a time of sharing experiences and supporting each other. These include monthly meetings for caregivers, retired ministers, residents with vision impairment, residents with Parkinson's disease, residents who have had an ostomy, or residents who have lost a loved one recently. Other support groups periodically form as requested by residents.
Massage Therapy by Healing Hands
A licensed massage therapist offers therapeutic massage on-site at discounted rates for residents and their families. Appointments may be made for half hour or full hour massages. Gift certificates are available.
Beauty Shop
For the convenience of our residents, University Village offers a full service beauty salon/barber shop on premises. Men’s haircuts are Tuesday mornings.
